the films of charles & ray eames

maybe i was stimulated by the exhibition of Eames at Vitra during London Design Festival. at usual dvd shop in brick lane- recently i'm renting Eames Films. i've seen some of their films at huge Eames exhibition held in tokyo. but at that time, i just saw very very little part of the films and honesty i didn't really pay attention to them. ( i really liked the most famous 'powers of ten' though, that was the only piece i remembered) but. now. i watched some more. i was very very very surprised at!!!! how wonderful all of those films!!!!!! just just wonderful. i do respect their passion and ideas. from any aspects, i'm really impressed. those films must be very legacy from them, lagacy of 20th century. i want to watch all of the seriese. there must be 6 dvds for the box. but at the shop, always some dvds are out. so. i need to be patient to watch all of them. by the way, maybe, this is one of the reasons why i really love the dvd shop in brick lane so much.... they are just wonderful to archive that kind of dvds.... and i honesty think. maybe it would be really nice if i can meet the people rent those dvds....

たぶん。デザインフェスティバルでイームズの展示を見て触発された勢いで。いつものブリックレーンのDVD屋さんでイームズの映像DVD達を借り始めた。彼らの映像は、何年か前に上野の都美術館で開催してたイームズ・デザイン展に てチラッと見たけど、当時はまだぜんぜん「パワーズ・オブ・テン」を除き、彼らの映像にまで注目しきれなくて。けど。あの頃より成長した今。もう.....。驚いてしまった。全て の、全ての要素において。ただただワンダフルだった。彼らの熱意とアイディアに敬意を払いまくってしまうとかそういう部分も含めて。本当にすごかった。こんなものがあったのか!!!!! と。この出会いにすごい感動した。誰かと語り合いたい気分にものすごくなった。でも。これらのフィルムは20世紀の偉大なる遺産だ....。と部屋で１人打ち震えてしまった。このDVDはボックスセットで６ 本あるはずなのに、DVD屋さんではいつもどれかが借りられてしまってて。全部見るのはかなりの忍耐と運が必要とみた。というか。こういうDVDを置いて あるっていう。そこがすごいよ、このDVD屋。大好きです。( というか。このDVDを借りてる人と知り合えたらいいのにな.....。って実はちょっと思う)。

this situation is in swiss and germany. but they speak in english. so i felt more UK feeling. i've seen this decade ago at cinema in japan. i've loved this film so much. and i really wanted to watch. but, at the dvd shop in brick lane, there's no stock. so i asked to order, then they got one probably for me! so happy. i love the texture of this film. but.... first of all... marianne faithful is... soooooooo pretty. so pretty. so pretty. so pretty. she is the bestest my admire in beauty.

邦題「あの胸にもう一度」10年前に新宿で見た。この映画、舞台はスイスとドイツなのに、彼らが英語を話すから、イギリスっぽく感じる。でもとりあえず。 すごく好きで。最近また、どうしても見たかったのに、ブリックレーンのDVD屋さんに置いてなくて。で。問い合わせたら、オーダーしてくれるということ で、やった！オレのため！！うれしい。ツヤツヤなケース。映画全体のサイケな感じとか、イカれた感じ、セクシーな感じ、とても好きなのだけど。何より、何 より....。マリアンヌ・フェイスフルがかわいい。かわいい。かわいい。すごくかわいい。美しい。マリアンヌ、私の永遠、そして最高の憧れの的。

i was fascinated by 'performance'. so. now. i wanted to watch more about 60s stones. then i choose 'one plus one / sympathy for the devil'. i've seen this film 10 years ago in japan. i was crazy about godard at that time. (probably loooooooots of japanese girls were crazy about godard films). and this one, godard plus the rolling stones. why not. but i can't deny at that time, i just enjoy the atmosphere of this film. and now, i think i can more enjoy this film from little bit wider aspects. and i recognize, i love godard films. he is the only one exists as godard (←non-sense sentence though....). and. no dought, this is the greatest document film about creation of stones. but. in the mean time, especially because just after watching the film 'performance' - mick + anita... i had to see probably really complicating but 'happen' situation related with anita / brian / keith / mick / and marianne. those human relations are always difficult. and happen. though... i don't know. i feel i may attracted by them. irony. cruel. but still very cool.... so cool for me... or maybe. my own cruel experiences during the decade helps me to obtain another aspect from those human relations i guess. cruel is sometimes funny, maybe? and. very impressive, sometimes... i have been and will be fascinated by them including those sorrow and cruel. ps. i love the scene with Anne Wiazemsky.

'performance' を見てすっかり魅了されてしまい。もっと60年代なストーンズを見たくなったわけで。となれば。ゴダールの' one plus one / sympathy for the devil'. この映画は10年前、私がゴダールに狂い、渋谷辺りのミニシアターのレイトショーに通いまくってた時に見た映画。赤の時代のゴダール。そしてストーンズ。 でも当時、正直言ってこの映画はただ単に雰囲気を楽しんだだけ.....だったな。でも今は、もう少し、いろんな角度からこの映画を見れた気がする。そし て気がつくのは。やっぱりゴダールがとても好き。ゴダールって存在は本当に彼しかいなくて、彼にしかできない（←意味不明なセンテンス....）そして。 疑いなく、ストーンズの曲作りのドキュメントとして、これってものすごい。でも。同時に。特に'performance' っていう、アニータとミックの映画を見た後だからか。映画の裏に潜む、人間模様とかそういうのが心に ずっしーん と切なく響いてしまった。アニータ / ブライアン / キース / ミック / そしてマリアンヌ。人間関係っていつも複雑で難しくて。でも。起こるから。ふう。けど、なんだろう。実は私、そういう彼らに憧れているような気もする。皮 肉で切なくて残酷なのに。彼らはそれでも、見事にカッコイイ。かっこよく思えてしまうわけです。私にとって。それか。この10年の間に私自身が経験したい ろんな事から、なんか不思議な感覚を得るようになったのかも。残酷なお話って、ときに滑稽。たぶんなんか。そんな感じ。よくわからないけど。心に妙にしみ ついてしまう感じ。 きっと。今後も彼らに魅了され続けるだろうなって思う。その切なさと残酷さも含めて。　ps. アンヌ・ヴィアゼムスキが出ているシーン。すごく好き。

i saw this film at 50ft open-air film screenings on time out park night. at night of summer in August. at the side of serpentine gallery and the river of kensington garden. that was fantastic... about 60s london- sex / drug / fashion... starring mick jagger and anita pallenberg (woman who knows three from stones). and i stole! this poster then. it says on this poster 'picnics permitted'. lovely! so we put blankets, lied down, and friends were drinking beer, and i was smoking cigarettes. (that is not really healthy picnic though...) that was a little bit chilly night even in august. but at least nice it didn't rain. and watching film the under a night sky was fantastic. besides. i could smell of green from the surroundings. that promoted atmosphere. because that means the same scent with inside of the screen. and so on because of many reasons, i was glad to watch this film in london. i think, london makes london be london thoroughly. BUT! In fact, in the beginning, i lost almost all of dialogues! 60s London English.... but that was ok. as long as i could see mick who is amazingly beautiful and cool. i was also very excited about the town scene of 60s london!! plus fascinating image and music. kind of sensational. even though i didn't get the whole story, to capture fragment of them sensuously and visually, i was compleatlly absorbed in them. then. whenever i remembere about this film, i still feel the wind of the night in August on my the skin. with the smell of green...

8月の夏の夜。serpentine gallery、kensington garden の川のほとりで。time out 企画の オープンシネマにて見ました。(写真ではスクリーンが小さく見えるけど、それは公園の木がでかすぎるゆえ。本当はスクリーンもでかい）。60年代のロンド ンの映画。sex / drug / fashion な映画. ミック・ジャガーとアニータ・パレンバーグ(ストーンズを３人知ってる女)主演。このポスターは帰りに盗んで来た。で。このポスターに書いてある ' picnics permitted ' がかわいい。ピクニック許可します！で。許可されたので。私たちはブランケットを広げ、友達はビール飲んで、寝転んだり煙草を吸ったりしながら見た。(不 健康そうなピクニック....)。8月だというのにやや寒かったけど、雨が降らなくてよかった。そして夜空の下の映画鑑賞は最高だった。さらに。周りから 漂ってくる葉っぱの香りが雰囲気を促進。画面の中と同じ香りがするわけで。その他さまざまな意味で。ここがロンドンでよかった。そんな感じ。ロンドンはロ ンドンをとことんロンドンにする。そんな気がする。が。実は最初。もうてんで、セリフについていけなかった。60年代のイギリスの、しかもたぶんちょっと ファッショナブルにアレンジされた英語。けどそんな事はもうよかった。ミックが、ミックが.....美しくてカッコイイんですもの...。そして60年代 のロンドンの街並。これをロンドンで見る事に非常に興奮を覚える。そして、怪しくて美しい映像と音楽。ストーリーの全体はつかめていないのだけど、その断 片、破片を、視覚的に、感覚的に釘付けだった。なんか。今でもこの映画の事を思い出すと、8月の夜の風を肌に感じる。葉っぱの香りと共に....。

i love the existence of photons... those are today's spring photons. in my room.

光は波動と粒子でできている。質量をもたない粒子：フォトン。けど。ものすごいエネルギーと運動量をもつ。つねに光速で進行する。反射するか。透過する。このフォトンって存在が好き。すばらしい存在だと思う。

their sound is something like liquid. flowing liquid. but that's not transparent like water. more like rainbow-colored liquid. the wonderful liquid that can oppose gravity sometimes, or dissociates, or becomes mobilable capsule of liquid. such taste. ( at least for me... ).

the wonderful point of them is that... each session is 10 - 20 mins, quite long. and that's kind of abstract sound all the time. but. those sounds are more than well composed, and consistent exactly between two of them, kieran + steve. cool. we coudn't help crapping our hands a looot whenever their session finished.

audiences were also nice. i like the moment when everyone is there among light and sound in space. we can feel that on our skin temperature. that was beautiful. when i listened to cool music, it's so difficult not to dance. i liked that moment. i was really in front of big speakers. then, i could feel ' sound wind' from speaker. wind came from speaker!! and tonight. i could also feel very weedy smell as well. to be honest. i like that smell. so that's fine.

彼らの音は。なんか液体の流れみたいだった。でも、水みたいに透明じゃなくて。虹色の液体。流動性が液体みたいだけど、重力にたまに逆らったりもできるし、分離したり、カプセルになって浮かんだりできる、不思議な液体。そんな感じ（さっぱり意味不明...）。すごいな。って思ったのは。１曲が10分とか20分とかのセッションで。ずっと。すごく抽象的な音ばかりなのに、2人の間できちんとつじつまが合って曲がまとまること。１曲が終わる毎に、ものすごく拍手をいっぱいしてしまう。

お客さんもよかった。お客さんそれぞれの肌温度に光と音がなだれ込んで、会場が沸く瞬間って美しい。かっこいい曲を聴いてるとき。踊らないことのほうが難しい。強制されて踊ることは大嫌いだけど、勝手に体が反応する感じ、これが好きだ。スピーカーの、ど真ん前にいたら。本当に「音風」がきた。スピーカーから風がふくの。重低音にあわせて。前後にいた人たちとともに、その音風に身を委ねた。で。今宵は。葉っぱの香りが、やけにいっぱいだった。実は嫌いじゃないから。この香り。

余談。前にいた身長が170cmくらいあるお姉さんが。ものすごくステキだった。唇の下にピアス。細くて、その体型もオシャレで、自然で。ものすごく酔っぱらってるっぽい彼にも動じないで、やさしく触れる手や (エロくない)、なにより笑顔がすごくステキだった。すごい綺麗なのに、ぜんぜんツンケンしてなくて、恐くなくてステキだった。恐いどころか、やさしかった。ちっびこな私が。最後アンコールの時に、後ろからなだれこんで来た背が高い男の子達にうもれてしまったとき。救って前に入れてくれた。し。そのとき、ものすごい笑顔をくれた。うれしかった....。踊り方もかっこよかった...。あまりに体型が違うので。同じ人間なのか....と思う程、綺麗な人だった。憧れちまった。
