cherry blossoms

during Easter 2010, cherry blossoms were full bloom everywhere in Japan.... it was beautiful... and i just thought of my grand mum in heaven. she went to heaven in March last year, so she just missed cherry blossoms then. At that time, I was in Iceland, so I missed last years cherry blossoms either. Though, this year, I could see the blossoms again. It was first experience for me to see blossoms here no longer my grand mum exists... I strongly felt about it, no longer she is here . I really wanted her to see them, she loved them so much. ( but I believe my grand enjoyed blossoms too, she didn't notice that to me, so I had to miss her though!) I thought, cherry blossoms are kind of deep pleasure of this world.

今年、近所の桜が満開だったとき、天国のおばあちゃんのことを思った。おばあちゃんは去年の3月に天国へ旅立った。ちょうど桜の季節を目前にした時期だった。そのとき私はアイスランドに滞在中だったから、昨年の桜は私も見ていない。でも心の中で「おばあちゃんに、また桜を見せてあげたかった」と思っていた。今年、私はまた桜を見た。おばあちゃんがいない世界になって初めての桜。こうやって実際に桜を見ると、去年に心で思ったよりも、もっともっと、おばあちゃんに本当に見せてあげたかったって思った。なんて。わたしのこんな思いをよそに、天国から見に来てたならいいんだけど。桜って、この世の喜びなんだな。

ものすごい恐い。けど、ものすごい綺麗。震えるほど恐くて、それでも綺麗。アイスランドの氷河の下の火山の噴火。

撮影と打ち合わせの合間に、切望していた中谷宇吉郎の雪の科学館に一瞬たちよっていただいて嬉しかった。行く道はそれが海沿いだと気がつかなかった。帰り道にようやく気がついた。

roof top hot spring

there was only a business hotel on the business trip of me. but it was a special. on rooftop, they have an open-sky hot spring bath. and i was bathing there. it was rain. rain came from directly from the sky to my skin in a hot spring water on rooftop. it was fantastic.

雨の金沢。街のど真ん中のビジネスホテルなのに屋上に露天風呂があった。雨が降っていた。雨の露天風呂はアイスランドみたいでうれしい。天から直通の雨を感じて、湯気をゆらめかす風がふいて、夜の温泉が夢心地だった。旅を楽しみながら、半分お仕事なので、不思議な緊張感とリラックスのバランスの中、温泉につかって雨を感じた。

on business trip officially, though half of it is you know just a joy!
金沢へお仕事へ。なんて言いつつ、半分は仕事じゃない。旅。特急はくたか。越後湯沢近辺、雪景色だった。東京駅で仕入れておいたお花見弁当おいしい。景色がおいしい！けどトンネルいっぱい、耳いたい。雪景色おわり、海が見え、風力発電がちらほらしれ、長いトンネルがたくさんで、かわら屋根が増えてきた。

年末年始。エイ！と印画紙をまとめ買いし、エイ！と暗室にまとめて入った。１人合宿。ただひたすら黙々と。暗室近所のビジネスホテルに泊まり込み連日連夜の作業。もしくは、24時間連続で作業。ずっとプリントしてると麻痺してくるから注意も必要だけど、正直、とっても至福の時間。
